Ever since my sophomore year of high school, I've been fascinated with makeup. My skills have definitely improved since I started with hot pink eyelids and intense eyeliner. I owe most of my makeup knowledge to YouTube and Pinterest. I'm still constantly learning new techniques and skills when it comes to doing my makeup. When I first started to do my makeup there was so much that I needed to learn and figure out. I'm going to use the knowledge that I have about makeup to hopefully help someone else learn a thing a two.
Since makeup primarily goes on your face, it is very important that you take care of your skin. You always need to wash your face to clean out your pores and to make sure you wash all of your makeup off. After you wash your face it's always best to moisturize your entire face. This will make sure that your skin stays hydrated and helps your makeup go on more easily. Before you apply any makeup, you should definitely start with primer. Primer helps to ensure that your foundation stays on all day and keeps it looking fresh. You can either use your hands or a makeup brush to smooth out the primer onto your entire face. After applying the primer you can put on BB cream or foundation.  The best way to decide which one to use is by determining how much coverage you want your face to have. BB cream has a lighter coverage than foundation and usually just gives your face a tint of color. Most foundations give a lot more coverage than BB creams. Foundation is best for evening out your skin tone and covering imperfections. Foundation comes in three forms-liquid, powder, and even spray. Testing out different foundations throughout the day is the best way to determine which one is right for you.
After you get your foundation evenly applied onto your face, you can move on to concealer. Concealer can be used for different purposes depending on what kind you get. You can get colored concealers that can correct color pigmentation on your face. For instance, green cancels out red, purple cancels out yellow, and red cancels out brown. You can use them to make your skin tone look more even by applying concealer that matches your skin tone over them. Concealer that matches your skin tone can be used to cover dark spots and acne, and lighter concealer can be used to brighten up your face. By applying concealer under your eyes, down the bridge of your nose, and on your forehead you can make your face look a lot brighter.

  1. I did not know you could use colored concealer to even out pigmentation on your face; that is so cool!

  2. I applaud you for having patience and the skills to do make up the way you do. I get tired of even putting mascara on.

  3. I really enjoyed reading this blog post! I am not very educated about make up, except for what the back of my make up package says. Which I buy from Walmart, haha. I'm really excited to read more about this blog!
